A one-day writing workshop for youth aged 14 to 19 led by Farnoosh Fathi, assisted by YALDA author Lulu Priddy. Additionally, UDP Editor Daniel Owen, will give a tour of UDP and a bookbinding workshop.

The Young Artists Language and Devotion Alliance presents a one-day writing and bookbinding workshop at Ugly Duckling Presse. In the first half of the workshop, participants will learn all about YALDA, write poems, and discuss what it means to write and publish as a young woman. In the second half, writers will learn about Ugly Duckling Presse, tour the letterpress studio and learn to bind their own notebooks.
* Limited to 12 participants, age 14 to 19.
* Each participant will receive a free book from UDP and a YALDA chapbook by one of four authors, Yovana Milosevic, Lulu Priddy, Malia Maxwell, Caroline Sasso.

Farnoosh Fathi is the author of Great Guns (Canarium, 2013), editor of Joan Murray: Drafts, Fragments, and Poems (NYRB Poets, 2018), and founder of the Young Artists Language and Devotion Alliance (YALDA). She lives in New York City, where she has recently taught at Poets House, Columbia University, and the Poetry Project.
